COMEDY FILM FEST on Kras - ISLE OF LAUGHTER

The first comedy festival on the island of laughter - a combination of films, humor and Mediterranean atmosphere

rules

- Short films up to 20 minutes (year 2015.+), (shorter forms preferred) that make us laugh, smile, or rethink the absurdities of life.

- Comedy, satire, parody, mockumentary, experimental humor – all styles welcome. - Submissions are open worldwide, with a friendly nod to creators from Croatia and neighboring regions (Slovenia, Italy, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, etc.).

- Please submit your film via FilmFreeway with: - A short synopsis (max 100 words). - Director’s bio (max 50 words). - Screening copy (MP4 or similar, HD quality). - 2–3 stills or poster (JPG/PNG, min 1200px).

- subtitle (.srt) Croatian or English (Serbian, Bosnian.. is OK)

Places

Location: Kras, Island of Krk, Croatia. 8 km from the coast, 15 km to airport of Rijeka.

On handball playground we will have 150+ seats, free tickets. Screen 6x4, with Laser projector.

 

There is a parking lot and a small shop right next to the screening area.

 

The screening space is suitable for people with disabilities, wheelchairs are welcome, be our 151+ seats ;-)

People

The festival is organized by the Croatian part of creative team behind the long-standing Uhvati Film festival (23 years strong across 4 countries), now launching this brand-new, independent initiative. We aim to gather unique, humorous, and thought-provoking short films that

can make people smile, laugh, or reflect – with a special place for creative voices from our

neighboring region.

- The Golden Kras (main award – no financial prize, but eternal glory). 

- Special Mention: Smiles; from the Neigh-boringhood (regional highlight). 

- Fun Without Borders (international smile). 

- MINI laugh (under 5min)

- Audience Award: Final Megalaugh. *

*: one selected filmmaker (with partner) will enjoy a free

weekend stay on the island of Krk !!!

 Prizes are real (weekend stays, local goodies) but never cash – because memories beat money ;-)

 

 The Festival is non-profit, admission is free.
- No honoraria, screening fees, or other payments to filmmakers.
- Prizes are not awarded in cash, but in the form of real benefits (weekend stays, local products, gastronomic packages).

* Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash value. If the awardee cannot personally redeem the prize, they may transfer it to another individual, provided that all conditions and validity periods set by the sponsor/prize provider are respected (e.g. accommodation availability window, voucher expiry date, etc.
